We’ve just finished the six weeks of puppy training classes using zoom and it was amazing. Not only is Julie an incredibly experienced dog trainer herself but the way she explains, educates and understands dogs as well as their behaviour is incredible. Using positive reinforcement and letting the dogs learn in their own time without forcing or pushing the training, she has taught us invaluable skills which will set us up for the rest of our lives. I honestly can’t wait for to go into the next stage of our training with Julie and Dawn!

I would highly recommend the puppy training I went to. I did the 6 wk course and it has been invaluable. The classes were small so it wasn't overwhelming for my puppy or me. They were in a safe environment so no chance of loosing puppy. The social skills my puppy learnt really helped my puppy as well as the other things that were covered. Julie was very calm and supportive throughout and very good at teaching how to train your dog and how to behaviour around your dog. It certainly opened up my eyes to dog training in those few weeks and made me look at and change my behaviours. I like the rewarding behaviour way of training. My puppy is still young and we are both still learning. I have lots of proud puppy own moments, all that i owe to Little Tykes.

Syd the Goldie first went to Little Tykes puppy socialisation classes and we were so impressed with the care and professionalism of Julie and Dawn we signed up for the 6 week teenager class...... Then lock down happened. We were very concerned as to what would happen and when the online classes were mentioned we were a touch sceptical as to how they would work and what we would gain from them......... And it turned out our scepticism was unwarranted. The classes led by Julie have been brilliant. She is extremely knowledgeable and patient and the help and advice given was exceptional. Harry and I now have the tools to help train Syd now that Julie has trained us. We are so happy with the classes, that we have signed up for 6 more online classes and eventually when lockdown is lifted we will continue to attend in real life Thanks so much

A day-care for dogs, suited to dogs who are social with other dogs.  Your dog will spend the day or half day engaged in mental and physical games and training in the large indoor and outdoor play areas, with other dogs who they will learn to see as friends, and resting together in our sleep zone.  We will hold ourselves to a very high standard for behaviour and cleanliness. We will limit the number of students per day so that we can give each the attention they deserve.  Students will be required to be physically fit (as agreed by your veterinary practice) and mentally prepared to be in this busy social environment.  Dogs with a stable medical condition e.g. Diabetes/Epilepsy/Heart conditions etc, should be fine. Being fully qualified veterinary nurses, we are able to monitor and administer medications as directed by your veterinary surgeon.  Dogs will be graded according to their play style, temperament and size and will be matched to groups accordingly.  Dogs that do not pass the assessment will be offered the opportunity to work towards admission to school by attending classes, 1:1 sessions or behaviour clinics as required.

Play School charge: £13 per half day (7am – 12noon or 2pm – 6pm), £20 full day (7am – 6pm).

Your main priority with your new puppy should be to have them meet as many new people, dogs and new environments as you can, but this needs to be done very carefully by encouraging confidence and preventing overexcitement. Get it wrong and you could end up with a fearful or bossy puppy.  One hour of FREE learning for you and your puppy with Julie Brewer who has over 20 years experience training puppies. Held in a stimulating, but safe environment where both you and your pup can have fun.

Come to a puppy party to learn how your puppy sees the world, learn how to understand their body language, and learn how best to help them become happy safe members of your human canine family.  Your pup must be less than 5 months old and have had their first vaccination (proof required) to attend.

Puppy Play Group - Puppies bite and have poor social skills.  At a Puppy Play group pups will be matched in size and age and introduced carefully so that they can play safely together and learn good social skills.  The sessions will be short so that puppies do not become over stimulated, they will be supervised constantly and appropriately socialised adult dogs will be in attendance (when available) to help them to learn appropriate play and social skills.  Charges: £5 per puppy for a 30-minute session.

Crazy Play Group – for dogs who love dogs. Dog attending this session are crazy but friendly. The sort of dog who just wants to be friends but is sometimes too much for other dogs. Play will be supervised and owners will be assisted in interrupting should things get a little too exciting.  Charges: £8 per dog for 1 hour.

This will not be a training environment, but I’m sure you will be able to bend our ears with any concerns. Dogs must be physically fit, up to date with their vaccinations and be friendly, not reactive or worried about other dogs to attended.
